Parkinson's Fall, Huge Bruise, and Christmas Cookies!

Yesterday I finished baking my Christmas cookies. I was in a little less pain so I figured that Tue would be a good day to bake!
My back and my painful sciatica started bothering me so I asked Dan to get a stool for me.  I sat on the stool and finished baking the cookies! They came out really well. I put a few packages together for friends and family!  Renee is having a big open house party on Sunday so I baked a huge amount for her. She is having a Pajama Brunch, come in your PJs!  Fortunately,  I  just bought new Christmas pajamas for Olivia, Olya and me. I might even have bought a pair for Renee, I just can't remember because I always buy way too much! So I stayed up late Tue. night reading my book for the library book club. I don't like the book but I am trying to force myself to finish it. I walked out to the kitchen to put my cup of water into the dishwasher before I went up to bed. It was about 1:00 a m.  I forgot that the stool was there, I tripped over it, the cup of water went flying and so did I.  I hit my head on one of the cabinet doors as I was frantically trying to steady myself but I clunked my shoulder onto the tile floor. Part of the reason I fell was my off balance Parkinson's but the main reason was tripping over the stool! The next morning I was in agony and asked Dan if there was a bruise on my shoulder and he said no. It continued to throb all day and it felt puffy to me. Later last night I asked Olivia to look at it and she said" You have a HUGE Bruise!" and took the photo above. Thanks, Dan!!
A big box came in the mail from my friend Debbie. She is also a bereaved mom and we connected the year we both lost our children.  Debbie is such a wonderful friend and she is so, so funny!!

For AMy

Her granddaughter Brielle, aka the craft Queen, always sends me the most adorable craft items. Debbie always remembers Amy, she sent a candy cane for the cemetery and an Amy angel for the tree!
I went to Boscovs with Dan today because there was something he wanted to buy. I ran into an old friend ,A, who was also very close to my friend Roe. I miss Roe so much, she died way too soon. I hope she is with her sona nd my daughter.   Her son and Roe's son were best friends since first grade.  A said that Roe's husband is doing really well.  I baked cookies for him that I want to drop off and I want to drop off a candle from the bereaved mom's candle lighting ceremony.
Tomorrow night Dan and I are going to my friend Joann's house for dinner.  My friend Mary and her husband Tom will also be there. Joann and Mary and I have been friends since we were 17 years old. I met Mary the first day of college and we have been friends since. I actually went to elementary school with Joann but we moved when I was in 6th grade and i never saw her again until college! We are also going to play board games!  I am taking cookie trays to both of them and a gift for Mary's new grandson! Joann's house is decorated so beautifully for Christmas.  It is breathtaking!!
On Sat, night Dan and I are going out to dinner with out friends Joni and Lee. Joni is so funny. She just cracks me up!! I hope my Parkinson's does not go crazy because I will be out so much over the weekend.  On Sunday we will be at Renee's party!
On Monday I am meeting my friend Leslie for lunch.  Leslie and I grew up together.  Leslie lost both of her parents before she was 21.. Neither she nor I are  big fans of Christmas because of so many sad memories.  She usually goes away the day after Christmas to her house in Florida.  Her husband has his own plane so he flies her there whenever she wants to go.
My Sciatica pain is back in full bloom. I keep trying to forget it and keep busy but it is so painful that it is forever present in my life. I got another laser treatment today. I think that I am about as good as I am going to get.
