People With Parkinsons's
I joined several Facebook groups concerning Parkinson's. I also started a Facebook group called People With Parkinson's. I think about 125 members joined in a few weeks! I also belong to a Parkinson's online community. I also belong to My Parkinson's Team email group. I am trying to read and find as much information as I can about Parkinson's disease. Most of the people in all of these groups think that their diagnosis is the worst thing ever. I don't feel that way. Of course I am NOT thrilled to be a Parkinson's patient but it certainly isn't the worst thing in the world. After burying a child, everything else pales in comparison. I think I'd like to try a support group meeting to see what it is like.
MY in home PT told me that a lot of her clients don't really like my Parkinson's doc. He doesn't have the nicest bedside manner but I am there for his expertise, NOT to sleep with him! I liked him. He is knowledgeable and nice. I think he will retire soon so although I like him, I am going to try another doctor this month, I have an appointment with another Parkinson's specialist doctor at the end of the month.
I am trying to keep up my negativity cleanse. I will list five more things that I am grateful for. I am grateful that TV exists. It really takes my mind off of my pain when I am watching! Olya and I watched America's Got Talent together! We LOVED the little boy playing the violin! I am also thankful for chocolate, who could exist without chocolate in their lives? How could a world without chocolate exist?? I am grateful that both of my daughters who are still living at home have jobs, are responsible with money, and save their paychecks!! I am thankful that the flowers that my niece Erica gave me at the cemetery on Amy's anniversary date May 25th still are alive and look really good. That means they have been alive for 19 days!!! The smaller flowers are carnations but I don't know what the other flowers are! I am thankful that my in home PT Emily gave me a few hints on how to maneuver around in my house.
She watched me walk up the steps and told me to hit the next step with the toe of my shoe so that I can get as much of my foot as possible on the step because I am afraid of falling backwards, sideways or forward when going up. I don't have any problems walking down the steps and she said that totally makes no sense with me having Parkinson's!
I just need to get fresh lettuce, shredded cheese, sour cream, onions, and tomatoes next week. I was planning to cook the hamburger meat on Tue evening and refrigerate it and then send it in a cooler on Wed. with Olivia. Now she wants to cook and prepare everything down there. The whole point was to give her boyfriend's mom a night off of cooking and cleaning up!! But I am on a negativity cleanse so I am just not going to argue with her about it. It doesn't really matter all that much to do it her way! Olivia told me that his mom doesn't even like tacos, neither do I. But Olivia can make her a hamburger! I am going to bake fat free, sugar free and cholesterol free brownies. The mix is sugar free and I use egg whites instead of whole eggs and I use applesauce instead of oil. I packed two little pails for Frankie's nieces. Olivia says that they are very sweet little girls!

Olivia is going down the shore with her boyfriend's family next week. I was planning to make them tacos. I bought a Taco Kit with hard shells and I bought two packages of soft shells.
