Heavenly Scents

         I decided to be on a negative CLEANSE for a week. I won't say or listen to anything negative about anyone(except for Trump).  I woke up to my throbbing sciatica. I stumbled to the bathroom with my off balance Parkinson's brain and took a ten minute shower. Both girls were off from work today and Dan was able to come home early. Today Dan and I and the girls took a trip to the Russian Food Market. It is about an hour drive for us so we go every once in awhile.  We bought a ton of Ukrainian/Russian foods.  The girls get all types of salads, smoked fish, cooked foods, desserts and lunch meat foods. They ALWAYS get sunflower seeds. Olivia roasts them at home to make them pop.  She told me that the Roomba will be working overtime because those seed shells get all over the place!  Whenever I walk into the store, the girls go off and get their special foods.  As I am walking behind them, I always think of the song "Welcome to My House." The girls are always excited to get their foods! They definitely fit in with all of the workers and the shoppers.  They all have a distinctive European look! I feel like a "fish out of water" around all of the beautiful and skinny Russian and Ukrainian women in the store! Most Ukrainian women are very beautiful.  I think most of the foods have special memories for them and I am so happy about that.  Most of the foods have Russian labels and most of the people in the store are speaking Russian or Ukrainian!

The last section is the bakery section and it smells heavenly! The smells of  silky fresh rich chocolate and soft delicious powdered sugar waft through the air! It was worth my painful sciatica throbbing leg to get to the Heavenly Scents in the bakery department. The presentation of the cakes is a work of art!! While we were shopping, I didn't think as much about my Parkinson's. It reared it's ugly head here and there during the shopping trip.   I held onto the cart with a death grip because I was afraid I would fall over because my balance is off!  At home, I fell to the right near my couch before we left(I caught myself) while carrying a popsicle stick! How lame is that?? It is a freaking weird feeling when you start to fall and have to try to concentrate to catch yourself, it is NOT automatic for me any more. My broken toes are still throbbing!  I don't know if I should tape them or not. I am falling apart at the seams! I will go to CVS tomorrow and see if they have something I can put on them!

All of the  wonderful foods smell like the restaurants in Ukraine.  The food smells fresh and delicious!!  I just love the Russian garlic dill pickles!  We spent about $150.00. Our fridge is stuffed!



These cookies taste like biting into luscious happiness!

Stiff Neck

        Today I woke up with a stuff neck! It is so painful that I forgot about my sciatica for a while. I took two Tylenol every few hours and maybe that is why my sciatica didn't bother me as much as it usually does.  I could feel the pain in my neck every time I moved! I didn't realize how much I move my head all day long until it was painful to do so. I got up at 7:30 because I had workers coming to clean my kitchen floor. I just can't do it any more!  They didn't get to my house until 9:30 because they are also working on my driveway and had to get filler and blacktop stuff!   I cleaned the kitchen while I waited for them. Tomorrow I just have to clean the family room and run my Roomba! My Parkinson's was definitely front and center, even with my stiff neck. I kept freezing in one spot and my  balance was way off!. Beautiful Day at the Cemetery Visiting our daughter Amy

         Today was an absolutely beautiful day, it was probably in the high seventies. When it's a nice day, we always take our folding chairs and sit at the cemetery for awhile. I had my book with me and Dan took the newspaper. On the front page was a sad story about two young women who used Heroin.  One young woman purchased the heroin and the other young woman died from an overdose.  The purchaser and her 17 year old sister left the young woman, an only child, in a bathroom in a fast food place when they couldn't revive her with water, etc. That young woman was found after they left and taken to a hospital where she died. Now,  the young woman who purchased the heroin  was sentenced to twenty something years in prison. Her 17 year old  sister testified against her and was set free after the trial  I think that is a rather severe sentence but a bright and beautiful young woman is dead forever.         ...

WARNING ABOUT GABAPENTIN AND PREGABALIN

Yesterday we went to see The Christmas Miracle at a sight and sound theater! It was amazing and we all had a nice time. Olya and her boyfriend Matt came with us, they met  us there because Olya went home with Matt on Friday.  Olivia and her "friend" Anthony also met us there.  I think they all had a nice time at the show.  We went to eat at the Waffle House after the performance! Yesterday was NOT a bad day for me with PD, but it was really bad with Sciatica.  I think my Sciatica is worse when it is cold! And it was really cold here yesterday!  I have been wearing my scarf and my gloves in the house, I have no idea whether it is PD related or not. I have a gas insert fireplace and I run it constantly so my house is usually warm, not sure why I am so so cold.          Today we went with my sister and her three adult children to see the play Buddy the Elf!
