An almost Pain FREE DAY!
There is absolutely no way that I can tell ahead of time what type day I will have. For the past few days, I have had to use my walker and could barely get around with it!! I was in so much pan. Today I got up and waited for the bad sciatica pain and only a small amount came to visit me today!! There is NO reason why I had such a great day without too much sciatica. I have been doing the exercises that my PT gave me and sometimes those exercises exacerbate the pain. Today I have not done the exercises yet because I am afraid the pain will find me again. I will do them when I am finished with this blog post!
I met my friend Deb for lunch! I just love her so much! She is also an adoptive mom so we totally get each other!! So many kids from our church adoptive parents group have had struggles. One boy went back to Russia. Another one was in prison for assault. These poor kids were so damaged by their parents prenatal behavior and have fetal alcohol effects and fetal alcohol syndrome. My friend's two adopted children left home when they turned 18. And another girl who was adopted at the same time as my Olivia from the same town is in jail on conspiracy to commit murder and robbery. There is videotape of her accomplice shooting an unarmed man who was handing over the money. Her sister who was adopted with her left home at age 17 because her adoptive mother was really nuts! She is a lovely girl. She got a job at McDonald's and supported herself while attending high school. My other friend who adopted a friend of Olivia's from the same orphanage just left home to live with an older couple who never had children. I think a lot of these kids can be easily manipulated. One of the adopted girls in the group was sexually abused by her adoptive father.
My friend Deb gave me this beautiful mug from the wild bird store.
She knows how much I love birds. Deb also loves birds! She is such a thoughtful friend! Yesterday my friends Jackie and Carol took me to lunch and insisted on treating me and now Deb gave me this mug! Maybe there is an upside to having sciatica pain and Parkinson's! LOL In reality, I think there is an upside to having wonderful friends. In that area I am truly blessed. Thank you Lord for bringing such wonderful and kind people into my life.
After my fun lunch with Deb, I went to Olivia's cosmetology school to get a haircut! Olivia did a really good job, I think. Her teacher came over and helped her on cutting my hair on angles. I am really happy with the haircut! Of course hair always looks terrific when you leave a salon. Olivia is almost finished Cosmetology School! WOO HOO!
I just did the PT exercises and I am in excruciating pain again and can barely walk. I don't know if doing them decreases my pain for the next day or just makes thing worse!! I will have to talk to m PT about it.
