Yikes and Yikes Again
Today I had my first tremor. Yikes! My right hand tremored for a few seconds. It is sort of a weird feeling. You watch your hand lightly shaking and have no control over it. Then about fifteen minutes later, the same thing happened with my left hand.Yikes again! I could sort of feel it happening underneath my skin before it actually tremored. Today I went to the Rock Steady Boxing class. I couldn't do most of the exercises today because I was having a very bad movement day. My sciatica was acting up and I was in a lot of pain. An older man came today whom I hd never met before. He was so funny! The coach would show him what to do and he would say OK and then do whatever he felt like doing. She would come back over and show him the punches again and as soon as she walked away, he would go back to doing what he wanted. He had a helper with him and she would show him what to do and he totally ignored her! I was so fatigued during and after the class. (Fatigue is a common, frustrating Parkinson's disease symptom. It can feel both physical and mental, from lack of sleep as well as from apathy, another common symptom. Pain from symptoms like rigidity can make falling asleep more difficult.) I had a decent night's sleep so I don't get it. All I wanted to do was lie down and sleep. After I got home, the in-home PT came to assess me. I told her that it was a really bad day and I usually was not so fatigued or weak! I hope this is not a sign of things to come daily! I decided not to go to the Rock Steady Boxing class until I finish the Big and Loud PT Program. (LSVT BIG trains people with Parkinson disease(PD) to use their body more normally. ... LSVT BIG effectively trains improved movements for any activity, whether “small motor” tasks like buttoning a shirt or “large motor” tasks like getting up from sofa or chair or maintaining balance while walking). I don't think I could do both! The PT program is 4 times a week for 4 weeks. I already have chiropractor appointments scheduled. I think I have 8 more sessions left with the chiropractor. Tomorrow I get the laser light tissue therapy and I always feel good after I get it so I am really counting on that for tomorrow!!
It is difficult to describe how Parkinson's feels. It is sort of like trying to move forward while someone else is holding you back. And it is difficult to move around, even roll over in bed, it sort of feels like there are body weights on top of me and I can't get them off! The fatigue part feels like you haven't slept in 24 hours but still have to stay awake!
Tomorrow I am excited to be having lunch with some of my bereaved mom and dad peeps! There are a few of us who have gotten really close so we like to meet outside of the meetings and have lunch and chat! I wish my bestie Priscilla could come, but she is working! That work stuff gets in the middle of socializing!! I need a Priscilla fix!! I haven't hung out with her for a few weeks!
Fatigue Linked to Parkinson’s Patients Lifestyle
Bradykinesia tremors and rigidity may have a common cause with mental symptoms

(RxWiki News) Although Parkinson’s disease is most recognized for problems with movement, many non-movement symptoms might also affect patients. Doctors often do not recognize these fatigue symptoms and therefore under treat them.
In a recent study, fatigue and other non-movement symptoms were present along with movement symptoms suggesting that they might have the same cause.
This study demonstrated that patients who experience fatigue have a lesser quality of life.
