Handicapped Cabin

         We went to the PSU Blue and White Game this past weekend!

 I always wear Amy's First Communion gold crucifx.  I also put on the charm  Renee's friend, Rachael, who was a bridesmaid in Renee's wedding, made for me. She also made one for Renee and Renee put it on her bouquet and I put it on my  flowers too.  I always want to have Amy be part of every family celebration.  Going to PSU is always emotional for me  Amy just LOVED everything about PSU. She only got one year at PSU before she died.

  Dan rented a cabin in a state park about an hour away from PSU. 

We took Olivia's boyfriend Frankie with us. Olya and her boyfriend Matt go to the cabin before we got there.  We took a carload of food for tailgating and for eating at the cabin.  I could barely see out of the back while driving!  My sciatica bothered me a little bit but I forgot about it while I was driving.  The cabin was very open, it would have been easy to use my walker inside of it if I needed to do that!  BUT I didn't use it at all in the cabin!!

We stopped at a Hoss's Steak house along the way.  Frankie had never eaten at a Hoss's and he really liked it!  Olya called us and told us that the gate to the park was locked. Dan told her to drive around to the other side of the park and they got in OK.  The same thing happened to us.  It was really dark when we got there so we had to meander around dark roads and try to find out how to get in.  The cabin was really nice!  Dan and stayed in the exact same cabin when he and his friend George went camping a few years ago.  It was a handicapped cabin which worked really well for me.  There was a seat in the shower and no step to climb over to get into the shower!  I didn't need my walker at all on Fri but we took it just in case I started to wane! The cabin had two sets of bunk beds in one bedroom and a double bed in the other bedroom.

 The cabin had great heat, comfy beds, and a really nice kitchen!  We also had a fire pit out back and used that on Sat. night! It was super clean and really cute inside the cabin! I am glad that Olivia and Olya's boyfriends get along!  Matt is such a funny guy and it is so unexpected. he has a very dry sense of humor! He was holding a flashlight over the barbecue grill on Sat. night when Frankie was barbecuing the hamburgers and hot dogs. In a very serious voice, Matt said, "I don't want to brag or anything but I AM the word's best flashlight holder!"  Matt LOVES to torment Olivia.  He gets the biggest kick at of annoying her and he is so funny about it.  Matt refers to Frankie as Mr. Frank!! Frankie brought Monopoly with him. The four of them played that game for two nights and the winner was Matt!! I fell asleep each night listening to giggles and laughter and hearing them say, you owe me $$, pay up!! We even had so much fun driving to the game with the six of us in the car.  Both young men are nice, responsible, and so funny! I took my walker to the game but I only used it a little bit! I slept really well both nights. I take medical marijuana at night but I wasn't sure that it would work in a new place. We always bring too much food!  Frankie's mom was so nice, she sent a big bag of snacks including my favorite, HERR's Potato Chips!
