Parkinson's Battle

         Everyday when I wake up, I feel like I have to battle with Parkinson's and Sciatica.  I don't know which one I dislike more!  The meds help me with Parkinson's but there really are no effective meds for the sciatica pain.  I thought it would go away by now, I have done everything the docs have told me to do. I did PT last summer and I am doing it again now.  I stretch everyday. I am going to buy a satin bottom sheet so that it is easier for me to move around in bed.  Dan bought satin sheets years ago for romance!  However, we just slid all over the place and both of us fell out of bed so we threw those sheets away!!😍
          Today Dan and I went to a park that he likes.  We took a snack of clementines and the geese kept coming up to us.  We threw them a few slices but they didn't really care for them.  One goose kept going back to the clementine slice and biting at it but then walking away.  He went back to it a few times. He was determined to make sure he DIDN'T like it!! Years ago, Dan and I ordered pizza from a new pizza place. We loved the taste of the pizza! We both got sick from the pizza the next day.  But the pizza was delicious. So we ordered it again the next week hoping that something else made us sick or we had a virus.  Right on cue, we were really sick and nauseous like crazy the next day!! We should have listened to our bodies the first time but the pizza was so good that we just had to give it another try!😊  I finished setting the table for Easter.  I cut some of the flowering branches near our driveway and filled small flower vases.  Tomorrow Dan and I have to go to the supermarket to get a cake, gallons of water, and a fruit tray!  It is difficult to stand for a long time because of my sciatica so I can't really cut and wash all of the fruit like I usually do! I usually have apple pie and ice cream for dessert but this year I am having angel food cake and ice cream.

Stiff Neck

        Today I woke up with a stuff neck! It is so painful that I forgot about my sciatica for a while. I took two Tylenol every few hours and maybe that is why my sciatica didn't bother me as much as it usually does.  I could feel the pain in my neck every time I moved! I didn't realize how much I move my head all day long until it was painful to do so. I got up at 7:30 because I had workers coming to clean my kitchen floor. I just can't do it any more!  They didn't get to my house until 9:30 because they are also working on my driveway and had to get filler and blacktop stuff!   I cleaned the kitchen while I waited for them. Tomorrow I just have to clean the family room and run my Roomba! My Parkinson's was definitely front and center, even with my stiff neck. I kept freezing in one spot and my  balance was way off!. Beautiful Day at the Cemetery Visiting our daughter Amy

         Today was an absolutely beautiful day, it was probably in the high seventies. When it's a nice day, we always take our folding chairs and sit at the cemetery for awhile. I had my book with me and Dan took the newspaper. On the front page was a sad story about two young women who used Heroin.  One young woman purchased the heroin and the other young woman died from an overdose.  The purchaser and her 17 year old sister left the young woman, an only child, in a bathroom in a fast food place when they couldn't revive her with water, etc. That young woman was found after they left and taken to a hospital where she died. Now,  the young woman who purchased the heroin  was sentenced to twenty something years in prison. Her 17 year old  sister testified against her and was set free after the trial  I think that is a rather severe sentence but a bright and beautiful young woman is dead forever.         ...

WARNING ABOUT GABAPENTIN AND PREGABALIN

Yesterday we went to see The Christmas Miracle at a sight and sound theater! It was amazing and we all had a nice time. Olya and her boyfriend Matt came with us, they met  us there because Olya went home with Matt on Friday.  Olivia and her "friend" Anthony also met us there.  I think they all had a nice time at the show.  We went to eat at the Waffle House after the performance! Yesterday was NOT a bad day for me with PD, but it was really bad with Sciatica.  I think my Sciatica is worse when it is cold! And it was really cold here yesterday!  I have been wearing my scarf and my gloves in the house, I have no idea whether it is PD related or not. I have a gas insert fireplace and I run it constantly so my house is usually warm, not sure why I am so so cold.          Today we went with my sister and her three adult children to see the play Buddy the Elf!
