EASTER CELEBRATION NUMBER 1

       Yesterday we went to visit Olya for an Easter celebration. We went to her apartment and loaded her packed boxes into the car.  She is almost finished with her semester so she is starting to pack up her apartment  Afterwards we went to a chocolate shop that Dan discovered over the Christmas holidays! I had wanted chocolate covered potato chips and he searched and found a place not too far from Olya's campus!  So we had to stop in there.  The smell is beyond delicious in the chocolate shop!! It overpowers you and you feel like you died and went to heaven when you walk into the door. When a friend of mine was facing a  bad diagnosis from a doctor , she told me that she was going to go to Dairy Queen everyday if she was terminally ill.  She said, "Ill go out fat but happy!"  Fortunately, it was only a scare and she was fine. Dan and Olya got caramels, who gets caramels in a chocolate shop??? They weren't chocolate covered or anything like that!! Dan and Olya said they were delicious. I got chocolate covered pretzels and chocolate covered potato chips. I got half a bag of each! They were so so so good!  There was a Goodwill Shop next door so we went in there for about 15 minutes. I got some new party decorations and Olya got new earrings.! Olivia got pajama bottoms which were new  but I told her that she had to wash them before she wore them. I was looking for girl baby shower items for my niece's baby shower but didn't find any!



        Then we met her boyfriend Matt's family for dinner at Red Lobster!! Olya loves seafood, especially crab legs!  She ordered enough crab legs to feed an army! Matt's parents are so nice, we just love them.  They are so nice and so kind to Olya and she loves being with them.  We had so much fun chatting and laughing. Matt's brother, Kyle, is just as funny as Matt!  He was quite comfortable chatting with Olya and Olivia!  Both boys have a really dry sense of humor and you just never know what is going to come out of Matt's mouth! Matt was complaining that his mom acts like she likes Olya better than him and she said..."well, I do!"  She is surrounded by men in her house! Matt's dad gave Olya his clump of crab legs that he didn't eat!! Matt's dad picked up the check which was a lovely and generous thing to do but that was never my plan! After our long and fun dinner, we drove Olya back to her apartment and then drove towards home for an hour and stayed overnight in a hotel.


       Dan bought new purses for Olivia and Olya for Easter gifts  and we gave them a few Easter candy packages and a chocolate rabbit!  I didn't go crazy on the Easter candy because I would be eating it! 
          The BEST news is that I have not had to use my walker for over a week!!!! I sometimes feel like I might fall but I have managed so far!! I hope it continues. The sciatica is a different matter.   It continues to rear it's ugly head!!!

Stiff Neck

        Today I woke up with a stuff neck! It is so painful that I forgot about my sciatica for a while. I took two Tylenol every few hours and maybe that is why my sciatica didn't bother me as much as it usually does.  I could feel the pain in my neck every time I moved! I didn't realize how much I move my head all day long until it was painful to do so. I got up at 7:30 because I had workers coming to clean my kitchen floor. I just can't do it any more!  They didn't get to my house until 9:30 because they are also working on my driveway and had to get filler and blacktop stuff!   I cleaned the kitchen while I waited for them. Tomorrow I just have to clean the family room and run my Roomba! My Parkinson's was definitely front and center, even with my stiff neck. I kept freezing in one spot and my  balance was way off!. Beautiful Day at the Cemetery Visiting our daughter Amy

         Today was an absolutely beautiful day, it was probably in the high seventies. When it's a nice day, we always take our folding chairs and sit at the cemetery for awhile. I had my book with me and Dan took the newspaper. On the front page was a sad story about two young women who used Heroin.  One young woman purchased the heroin and the other young woman died from an overdose.  The purchaser and her 17 year old sister left the young woman, an only child, in a bathroom in a fast food place when they couldn't revive her with water, etc. That young woman was found after they left and taken to a hospital where she died. Now,  the young woman who purchased the heroin  was sentenced to twenty something years in prison. Her 17 year old  sister testified against her and was set free after the trial  I think that is a rather severe sentence but a bright and beautiful young woman is dead forever.         ...

WARNING ABOUT GABAPENTIN AND PREGABALIN

Yesterday we went to see The Christmas Miracle at a sight and sound theater! It was amazing and we all had a nice time. Olya and her boyfriend Matt came with us, they met  us there because Olya went home with Matt on Friday.  Olivia and her "friend" Anthony also met us there.  I think they all had a nice time at the show.  We went to eat at the Waffle House after the performance! Yesterday was NOT a bad day for me with PD, but it was really bad with Sciatica.  I think my Sciatica is worse when it is cold! And it was really cold here yesterday!  I have been wearing my scarf and my gloves in the house, I have no idea whether it is PD related or not. I have a gas insert fireplace and I run it constantly so my house is usually warm, not sure why I am so so cold.          Today we went with my sister and her three adult children to see the play Buddy the Elf!
