"Do you REALLY have Parkinson's," asked the ER doctor ???

        I have felt sick for the last few days. I am sick to my stomach, have a fever and feel lightheaded.  I am really hoping that I don't have Pancreatitis because I am prone to it.  I haven't been able to take my carbidopa-levodopa because anything I put it my mouth doesn't stay down. I am wondering if there are inhalants for carbidopa-levodopa. because other people have told me that the medicine itself makes them queasy. I have not had that problem before. Without the PD meds, I feel like a Gumby doll, no structure to my body, it kind of  just falls over or bends here and there, no control over it. I think Gumby has more structure to his body than I have right now. Dan and I went to the cemetery because we go every Sunday to visit Amy and my dad.         I had book club Sunday night but I just couldn't make it.  I really wanted to go because I love all of the women in the book club and it was a great book for discussion! ...

TIRED OF and WITH Parkinson's

     I am so tired of having Parkinson's and it is only a few months. I hate that I walk leaning forward and having to hold onto furniture and counters. I hate that I need to remember to take my meds or my symptoms will be more apparent.  I hate that I have to take a walker everywhere I go. And I hate that I have difficulty getting up and down off of furniture and out of bed in the morning!  I also hate that my gait freezes now and then and/or my entire body freezes and I feel like a stupid moron when it happens. I hate that I have to have a death grip on the banister when I go up and down stairs. I hate that my life is dependent on Parkinson's doctor and pain management doctor visits and PT.  I can't stand long and I hate that, I walk slowly and I can't stand that either. Parkinson's Today

This is a post from my last year's blog!(Thankfulmomoffive)  I wrote a blog about 365 days of being thankful.   This time last year, I had no idea that I had Parkinson's.   I knew for a fact that I had sciatica!!  I STILL have the same sciatica pain!!! Parkinson's was not on my mind!! I  think I had Parkinson's   symptoms last year and just attributed it all to sciatica issues!  I was off balance, had difficulty getting up from a chair, and had difficulty turning over in bed. Now it runs my life 24/7!!  I have to make sure that I take my meds and have a walker with me!  I am still so thankful for the family and friends who share  my life!     Today I am thankful that I went to acupuncture with Renee!  I was a virgin acupuncture patient!  I must admit that a few of the sticks hurt a little but I am willing to do anything to rid myself of the sciatica pain.  The room was warm and soothing and ...
