PLEASE FOLLOW MY BLOG--I AM Thinking of Making It Private
Last night when I was at my friend's Shiva service, I ran into a woman who I had known from Olivia's cheer leading days. She was serving the refreshments after the service. We had to take Olivia out of cheering because she had several severely herniated discs and she was in constant pain. She eventually had a spinal fusion and she is much better now after years of severe pain. Anyway, my friend Leslie has a sister named Stephanie and after I recently saw Stephanie we became Facebook friends. Leslie's and her family lived up the street from me when we were kids! The woman I chatted with last night is also a Facebook friend of Stephanies and I asked her how she knew Stephanie. They had gone to a private elementary school together! When Leslie and I became Facebook friends several years ago, her friend Bridget asked her how she knew me. Bridget was the principal of a high school that I had worked at as a reading specialist for several years! I think if we are in a group of 50 people we would have some type of connection to several of them!
Today my Sciatica is growling. It has been sort of quieter for the last two weeks or so but today it is loud! I could tell as soon as I got up this morning. I fell when I gt out of bed, not hard, just on to the throw rug next to my bed. My leg just sort of gave way because it hurt so much when I stood on it and put my weight on it. I was planning to exercise today but I am not sure I can unless my pain subsides a bit.
Today and yesterday I was chatting with an online friend named Barbara Ann. She and I were chatting about sciatica and Parkinsons. Her reasoning is as follows: typically what I have experienced, and learned from my surgeon is it's either caused by a spine problem or the piriformis muscle compressing the Sciatic nerve.
My docs insist there is NO connection between Sciatica and PD but I disagree with all of them. I have even found articles online that list Sciatica as one of the warning signs of PD!
I have noticed for the last few weeks that I have started to drop things. I can never carry more than one or two things at a time. In the middle of the night, I dropped my pill bottle! Today I dropped my towel after I dried off from the shower and tried to hang it on the towel bar. Later when I was making lunch I dropped the chicken on the floor. It was a precooked chicken from Acme in a plastic container. Of course the top came off and it was a gooey mess to clean up. It was the only thing I was carrying and it wasn't heavy at all.

So do you want a Disease other than Sciatica. Some symptoms are so alike we can just maybe talk ourselves into a disease and if we dont have the disease as Sciatica is enough we shall be happy to find that out. Yes one person can be conneted same as diseases, I shall choose the lesser of the two diseases and mix more friends into my life.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand your comment. I have Parkinson's Disease and have had it for over a year and I also have Sciatica. I take Parkinson's medication three times per day. Look at the title of my blog.............POSITIVE WITH PARKINSONS. I was diagnosed by two different neurologists. I had tests done and they came back positive for Parkinson's. Of course, NO ONE WANTS another disease!!
