DOUBLE VISION

     


           Yesterday and today I have had double vision. I had it before when I first started taking Gabapentin. I told my pain doc and she lowered my dose. But it started again yesterday, I notice it when I am trying to read or type on the computer. I have to keep my right eye closed to be able to type on the keys.  IT REALLY IS ANNOYING!!
       


         I am thinking that this is totally Parkinson's related. I will try to take less Gabapentin and see if it helps with stopping the double vision.  It seems to not happen when I am driving. It happens with close-up things like reading or typing.  AND I CAN'T STAND IT!!!
     Today my family doc called me and told me that I have an edema on my foot and he thinks that there is a fracture under the edema. He said that the MRI was inconclusive. He wants me to see a podiatrist and get a boot.  I can't imagine walking with a boot with Parkinson's Disease!! I have enough trouble walking now let alone with a heavy boot on my foot.I think I will be spending most of my time home.  At least it is my left foot so I can drive just fine!

    I'm really interested in what you find out about what could be causing the double vision. I had a cataract removed a couple of months back and got new glasses, but I'm having almost exactly the same problem.

      Hi Alice, I think it is just Parkinson's problems as others have told me that they experience the same thing!! I think my appt with my neurologist is next month and I will ask him. I have to have my cataracts removed but I have put it off due to my other issues.

        Sunday I got up and showered. It takes me about an  hour to shower. That is so annoying but it is now my Parkinson's and Sciatica controlled life! I use to be able to shower in 15 minutes and off I could go. Even when I get out of the shower, it is so difficult to dry off and get dressed!  After I finished dressing, which is such a chore, I went to Wegmans and got fruit salad for tomorrow because my daytime bereaved mom's group is having a candle lighting ceremony to honor our deceased children. All week I have prepared for this event because it takes me so long to do anything!       The candle lighting was beautiful and bittersweet.  Everyone brought something to read and had something to say. WARNING ABOUT GABAPENTIN AND PREGABALIN

Yesterday we went to see The Christmas Miracle at a sight and sound theater! It was amazing and we all had a nice time. Olya and her boyfriend Matt came with us, they met  us there because Olya went home with Matt on Friday.  Olivia and her "friend" Anthony also met us there.  I think they all had a nice time at the show.  We went to eat at the Waffle House after the performance! Yesterday was NOT a bad day for me with PD, but it was really bad with Sciatica.  I think my Sciatica is worse when it is cold! And it was really cold here yesterday!  I have been wearing my scarf and my gloves in the house, I have no idea whether it is PD related or not. I have a gas insert fireplace and I run it constantly so my house is usually warm, not sure why I am so so cold.          Today we went with my sister and her three adult children to see the play Buddy the Elf! Parkinson's Today

This is a post from my last year's blog!(Thankfulmomoffive)  I wrote a blog about 365 days of being thankful.   This time last year, I had no idea that I had Parkinson's.   I knew for a fact that I had sciatica!!  I STILL have the same sciatica pain!!! Parkinson's was not on my mind!! I  think I had Parkinson's   symptoms last year and just attributed it all to sciatica issues!  I was off balance, had difficulty getting up from a chair, and had difficulty turning over in bed. Now it runs my life 24/7!!  I have to make sure that I take my meds and have a walker with me!  I am still so thankful for the family and friends who share  my life!     Today I am thankful that I went to acupuncture with Renee!  I was a virgin acupuncture patient!  I must admit that a few of the sticks hurt a little but I am willing to do anything to rid myself of the sciatica pain.  The room was warm and soothing and ...
